I’m sit­ting behind the desk at the Bond Street Gallery right now. There’s an art walk going on in the area so there’s more peo­ple com­ing in and out of here than usual. The ques­tion I’ve been asked today more times than any other is, “Are you the photographer?”

Why are peo­ple ask­ing me this? Are they retarded? Have they never been in a gallery before? Is it that shock­ing that there would be a com­mer­cial space in Brook­lyn? I don’t under­stand, but the next per­son to ask me this ques­tion is going to get punched in the face.
